Phu My Engineering Construction Joint Stock Company (PMEC) was established in 2007. Proudly recognized as the first pioneering Vietnamese contractor to apply post-tensioning structural design and construction solutions for civil and industrial projects. With the mission to "Provide optimal solutions to address technical challenges arising in customers’ construction investment projects through the application of advanced technology, engineering progress, and the accumulated experience of our expert team, aiming for safety, quality, cost reduction in both investment and operation," PMEC has continuously researched, applied, and improved the quality of technical products, design processes, construction methods, and product quality control. With over 15 years of experience in post-tensioning project execution, PMEC has observed that leading design and construction companies worldwide typically develop their own integrated post-tensioning systems. This approach ensures maximum quality and consistency for their projects.

The Need for PMEC’s Integrated Post-Tensioning System

Recognizing this, PMEC’s leadership set a goal to manufacture and standardize all materials within its post-tensioning system.

After extensive research and development, PMEC successfully produced key components such as anchorage systems, ducting, spacers, and installation accessories. Despite initial challenges during early project phases, PMEC’s commitment to delivering an optimized, fully integrated solution resulted in a post-tensioning system that complies with technical requirements specified in the Post-Tensioning Manual by the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI), USA, as well as European post-tensioning standards including BS EN 13391, BS EN 445, BS EN 446, and BS EN 447.

In 2021, PMEC’s anchorage system was honored with the Industrial Design Patent by Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology — Intellectual Property Office (Decision No. 1118w/QĐSHTT and 1127w/QĐ-SHTT, dated January 28, 2021).

   Fully meets European technical standards for post-tensioning cables (ETAG), and international design standards such as ACI 318 (USA) and BS EN 13391 (Europe).

2. Design, Technical Characteristics, and Convenience

   • Compatible with construction materials and tools to improve stressing efficiency and minimize friction losses.

   • Suitable for post-tensioning cables with diameters of 12.7 mm and 15.24 mm.

   • Anchorage bases and pockets made from recyclable plastic materials support green building criteria.

   • The unique horseshoe-shaped anchorage with serrations reduces stress concentrations and minimizes cable losses.

   • Reduces the need for auxiliary accessories such as valves, grout pumps, and tapes.

   • PMEC’s tensioning heads are fully compatible with stressing equipment, ensuring field tensioning matches design forces and elongation tolerances.

   • Grout mixes meet European standards (BS EN 445, 447), ensuring durability, bonding, and corrosion resistance for cables up to 100 years.
